DIY Vegan Nutella

Enjoy the rich, chocolatey goodness of vegan Nutella that you make yourself. This spread is made with healthy ingredients and is great for putting on toast, dipping fruit, or just eating by the spoonful.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raw hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 175F 350C

Place hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast them for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they smell good and are just starting to turn brown

Take it out of the oven and let it cool down a bit

Nuts should be rubbed in a clean kitchen towel to get rid of their skins

It's okay if some skins stay on

Put the hazelnuts in a food processor and pulse them until they are very small

Melt the coconut oil in a food processor

Then add the vanilla extract, salt, and maple syrup

To make it smooth and creamy, scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed

Put your homemade Nutella in a jar or other container that won't let air in

You can keep it in the fridge for up to two weeks
